Getting Started

Wildhearted Legacy

Welcome friends!

I grew up knowing I wanted to be a wife and mama more than anything else and was thrilled when I ended up meeting “my heart” when I was 22yrs and we got married a few months later soon after I turned 23. We had our first baby almost 2 years later and then quickly added 2 more babies in the following two years and ended up with 3 under 3! Now, we are almost 9 years into our marriage and we just added baby #4 and 2nd girl, just 5 months ago. She has added so much joy and light to our lives and we were so ready for her. Very, very thankful the Lord chose to answer our prayers for another baby with a resounding “YES!”

It was our 3rd homebirth and even ended up being unassisted! I do plan to share the story in time as well as stories of my other three births. I have come a long way in my health and natural minded journey to where I am and I continue to grow and learn. “Know Better, Do Better” is a regular mantra to myself.

I have always kind of leaned towards a “hippy” or “natural” minded mindset. I made my first kefir when I was 19/20, drank super healthy smoothies, started getting into essential oils, realized I knew people “today” who were giving birth with midwives and knew I’d want to do that myself. I have always dreamed of having a ranch or farm and having all the animals; chickens, dogs, cats, cows, horses, pigs, etc and a huge garden with canning, drying, etc. I love getting my hands dirty outside and being in the fresh air.

We don’t have any of the animals or farm/ranch or even a “real” garden yet but just wait. We will. One day I will help make this dream come true. It may come on in unexpected ways but I’m working towards learning the skills I need to make this dream happen. Some of those have been cultivating a strong sourdough starter, figuring out ways to cook more and more from scratch, reading about chickens, dogs, and cats, and gardening as those will be some of the first animals and things I want to procure.

I tend to be scatterbrained (though how much is from brain cells dying by having babies? idk ) and I’m working on gathering my thoughts more consistently onto paper too. I also like to jump in and just learn by making mistakes but lately I’ve been trying to be more patient and gather as much info first before jumping. I am wanting to make my dream a reality and that will require a lot of hard work and changes.

So if you want, let’s grow together. I will share what I’m learning and maybe you’ll grow with me. Let’s see and show any doubters that we can do hard things and change our lives for the better. For ourselves and for our families.
